Domaine Vincent Dureuil Janthial 2018
Vigneron of the year 2019
Vigneron – a person who cultivates wines for grape making.
We are delighted to be able to offer these fabulous wines, Vincent’s Cellars are deep and cold, so elevages always take longer and bottling is later than would typically be the case in the cote chalonnaise. Allocation are never released until the wine is securely in the bottle – hence the later arrival into the UK.
This is one of the best and most highly respected domaines in all of the burgundy crafting wines which are revered by cotes Chalonnaise and d’Or Peers and discerning customers alike. It is one of the few burgundy domaines where the Vigneron is equally adept at making both red and white wines.
In recent years the people who we work with, have had to fight hard to maintain their allocations in the face of huge demand in the French domestic market- especially from the finest Michelin-starred restaurants. This was undoubtedly influenced by Jean-Francois Coche’s(Couche-Dury) now famous quote “if I see his name on a wine list, I don’t give it a second thought and simply order his wine”.
According to Vincent “2018 has resulted in rich and generous wines which will keep well. We made the best volumes since 2009. There was rain until mid-June, but then fantastic conditions. We picked from 1st to 17th September”.
Once again, a stunning range of wines from this extraordinary vigneron.
Dureuil Bourgogne Blanc
(Available To Order – Now In Stock)
Dureuil Bourgogne Blanc shows pretty aromas of apricot, white peach and citrus, floral and buttery. The palate is quite elegant with firm acidity under the supple stone fruits with almond and stone flavors, finishing with nice length of citrus, mineral and white fruits. This is an excellent value in a classy and versatile white Burgundy, as an aperitif, or served with fish and white meat dishes.

This shows great potential for ageing. Mid ruby in colour. Perfumed, sweet, ripe forest-fruits aromas and flavours. Polished tannins. Depth concentration but, again, purity, energy and freshness.

Opening in the glass with notes of lemon oil, crisp green orchard fruit, wheat toast and nutmeg, this Rully Blanc is medium to full-bodied, bright and incisive, with a pretty core of fruit girdled by impressively racy acids for this warm vintage. Long and penetrating, this has plenty of potential to develop in the cellar, even if it can be enjoyed young, too.

Côte de Beaune reds are known to impress, this Rully is no exception. Deepish Ruby hue. Gorgeous aromas and flavours of raspberry and dark cherry, with a hint of spice. Supple, enticing, gulpable. Concentrated fruit but with vivid freshness.
