Description
The Wine
The grand vin here is the red Chateau Musar, a blend which may include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsaut, Carignan, Grenache and Mourvedre. The wine is fermented in concrete, before spending one year in vat, then a year in French oak, before going back to vat for several years.
Tasting Notes
has a deep scarlet colour and a nose of blackberries, Assam tea, dark chocolate and mulled berries. On the palate there are rich black and red fruits, especially blackcurrants, cherries, damsons and figs with warm cinnamon spice and a hint of mint. This vintage is also characterised by a smoky, earthiness.Celebrated Lebanese wine producer Chateau Musar’s iconic signature red blend from the Bekka valley.
Ageing
This wine needs years – perhaps ten – before it is ready for drinking, and the wines are already some way towards that age when they are finally released onto the market.
