The Wine

The Zenato family have a long tradition in the Lombardy and Veneto regions of Italy. Their cellars are situated in San Benedetto di Lugana on Lake Garda. Sergio Zenato is a master wine blender and is driven by his passion for quality. The Zenato Amraon is a made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Sangiovese grapes from the Valpolicella Classico zone, in the communes of Sant’Ambrogio, Negrar, Pedemonte, Fumane, San Pietro in Cariano and Marano. After being picked into small, 2.5 kg trays, the grapes are cleaned and placed on drying mats for 4 months in dry, well-ventilated rooms. In January they are finally crushed, then very slowly fermented on the skins for 21 days; the wine goes into 300-litre French barrels and Slavonian oak barrels for maturation. The wine is aged for 30 months before bottling. Considered to be the king of the Veronese wines, this is a generous and pleasing award winning wine. Ruby red in colour, with a rich, lingering and spicy palate, finishing strong yet smooth and supple tannins.

The wine displays a deep, ethereal bouquet of tobacco, chocolate and smoky, dried fruit aromas.
